About me

I’ve always been a writer. I actually dressed up as one during my fourth-grade career day, complete with glasses and notebook. Everyone thought I was supposed to be a teacher, until I explained my mom wouldn’t allow me to carry around a typewriter all day. My career began with launching an outdoors lifestyle magazine for a 200,000-member non-profit with no knowledge of print production and only a few published articles in my thin portfolio. I was 22 when the first issue mailed.

In the years following, organizations have depended on me to launch publications, reinvent websites, evolve brands and manifest digital strategies by building teams of specialists and collaborators. I lead with creativity, vision and warmth. My passion is to breathe life into teamwork, to empower people to create something bigger together.

I’m at a point in life when I can draw on years of perspective, resources and experience to venture in to new areas with confidence … and a healthy sense of humor. After three months of golf lessons, I played in my first benefit tournament, learning that I suck at it just like everyone else. I took an inward journey by hiring a leadership coach to help center me on a greater professional purpose.

Count me in on trying new things, especially when it involves music. Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp? Check. Recorded songs in a professional studio? Done that too. Same goes for experiencing new places and meeting new people, and my career as well. Every industry I’ve worked in or around … hunting, military, NASCAR … I’ve immersed myself in new cultures, learning by doing and giving an authentic voice to each.
