Turkey Country

Writing/Editing • Publishing • Organizational Voice

Turkey Country became a lifestyle magazine for the 200,000+ membership of the National Wild Turkey Federation. I was charged with blending all of the niche titles for the interest groups within the organization into a single, cohesive publication. As editor-in-chief, it also meant creating a unified editorial team from the publications’ editors and staff. This move was just as much about change management as it was reinforcing a single voice to the entire membership. I became one of only three (at the time) female EICs of a national hunting publication. The result — after some reluctance and push back — was a brand vehicle that was more inclusive and demonstrated the diversity of our mission and membership.
